Hijrah is an act of worship before it is a logistics project. Sit with your Lord first: make istikhara, renew your intention, and write down WHY you are leaving — because that sentence will carry you through the hard days at the cargo depot.
Then align your household. Talk to your children honestly and age-appropriately — they are not luggage; they are travelers with their own grief and hope. A family that leaves united can survive almost anything that comes after.

I began speaking with my child about hijrah more than 6 months before we departed. I answered his questions, watched videos of potential destinations with him, and promised to buy him a new bike in our final destination. Knowing that possessions left behind would be replaced was a major turning point for him.
